Quick start with Calendar

The Calendar is where you build your day in Pumpynotes. This guide shows you how to create your first event, switch views, organize with colors and tags, and manage events by dragging and dropping.

The Calendar brings your events, reminders, daily flow and that day's income and expenses together on one screen. Organize events with colors and tags, switch between month and week views, and move an event to another day just by dragging it. The five steps below get your calendar set up in minutes.

1
Create an event
Click any day in the calendar, or use the "+" that appears in the corner of a day when you hover over it, or the "Add event +" button at the top left to open a new event. Give it a name and save, and the event lands right on that day.

Month and week views
In month view you see the whole month at a glance, and switching to week view lets you plan your days hour by hour. Choose the view from the switch at the top right. Transactions you enter in Finance also show up in month view as money cards: the card shows the transaction's name and amount and takes its color from the transaction's category, and cards on past days appear faded. Click a money card and the transaction opens in Finance. If a day has more than three transactions, the first two show as cards and the rest are grouped under "+N payments"; click it to open that day's list. In week view, each day's header shows that day's total instead of money cards. Events with a linked note show a small note line on their card when the card is tall enough.

Add color and tags
Click an event to open the editor. Use the checkbox at the start to mark the event as "done", and the "A" box next to it to choose both the text color and the event card's color. You can also add a tag and edit its date, note and reminder. The color you pick shows on both the event card in the calendar and the title in the editor. Add a spend for this event in the Event note tab opens a spending record tied to this event (for example the restaurant bill for a dinner event; you can switch it to income if needed); the transaction is listed in Finance with an event badge. Color and text color apply only to event cards; money cards take their color from the category in Finance.

Move with drag and drop
When your plans change, there's no need to delete and recreate the event. Grab it and drag it to another day; it snaps to the new date instantly. If you have several events on the same day, you can reorder them by dragging up and down. When you move a recurring event, you'll be asked whether to change only this event, this and all future ones, or the whole series.

Using colors and tags consistently makes your calendar readable at a glance. For example, give work events one color and personal ones another.

Frequently asked questions

How many events can I add?
Unlimited. On every plan you can create as many events and tags as you like.
Can I change an event's color?
Yes. Pick a preset from the color palette in the editor, or enter your own. The color shows on both the event card in the calendar and the title in the editor.
Which plans include reminders?
In-app reminders are free on all plans. Desktop reminders unlock from Pro, and email reminders from Business.
Can I link a note to an event?
Yes. Use "Link Note" in the event editor to attach a note to an event, so you can reach the related note straight from the calendar. The linked event appears above the note as a card with its date, time and reminder.
Can I see my spending in the calendar?
Yes. Transactions in Finance appear in month view as money cards on their dates; click one and the transaction opens in Finance. On busy days the rest are grouped as "+N payments". In week view, the day's total sits in the header, and on your phone it shows as a small dot under the date.
Can I change the color of money cards?
No. A money card takes its color from the transaction's category in Finance; edit the category to change the color.
