Open Pumpynotes in your phone's browser and what you get is not a website but the kind of mobile app you already know: navigation at the bottom, everything placed for one-handed use. There is nothing to install; same address, same account, same data. Below you will find what lives where on a small screen and on a tablet.

Navigation at the bottom, like in your apps
The bottom tabs you know from every app on your phone greet you here too: Overview, Calendar, Notes, Finance and Settings, all within reach of your thumb. Whichever tab you are on, a white card sits under it; you see where you are at a glance.
The bar does not get in the way of reading: it slips away as you scroll down and comes back the moment you scroll up. It also hides itself when you tap a text field and the keyboard opens, so it never covers a form.

The header and its tools
The page name sits at the top in large type. As you scroll down, that header turns into a slim rounded strip and sticks to the top of the screen, so you never lose track of the page you are on.
To the right of the title sit the buttons that belong to the page: search, notifications, profile and the page's own action (add an event on the calendar, edit on Overview). What is a written button on a computer becomes an icon on a phone, to save room. The box behind the search icon is covered in Search and commands.

The calendar on a phone
On a small screen the calendar switches to a layout of its own: Month and Week at the top, a touch grid in the middle, and the list of the day you picked below it. Days with events carry a small dot underneath, and today is marked in yellow.
Tap a day and the grid stays where it is while the list below jumps to that day. You open an event from the list and edit it there.

How it looks on a tablet
Because a tablet screen is wider, the navigation menu is not at the bottom as on the phone but on the left edge, as on a computer: the Pumpynotes mark on top, the page icons below it, settings at the very bottom. Tap an icon and you are on that page.
Held upright, the tablet flows pages in a single column just like the phone. Turn it sideways and room opens up: the view moves closer to the computer's, the left menu widens with its labels, and the Overview page starts laying its cards side by side.

Overview and notes on a small screen
On a small screen Overview drops to one column and widget width stops meaning anything; you set the order in edit mode with the up and down arrows in the top right of each widget. The details are in Set up your Overview page. To add a new section, the steps in Add and remove widgets from the Marketplace work on a phone too.
In Notes the cover cards become a strip you swipe sideways, and the editing tools gather above the text. When the keyboard opens while you write, the page shifts up and the line with the cursor always stays in sight.
Phone and computer use the same account, and the data is the same whichever device you sign in from. An event you add on your phone shows up on the desktop right away.
Frequently asked questions
Is a mobile app on the way?
Yes, native Pumpynotes apps for iOS and Android are in development. Until they arrive, your phone's browser is fully capable: the same account, the same data and the app-like layout described on this page. We will announce the apps here and inside Pumpynotes when they launch.
Do I have to download an app?
No. Opening Pumpynotes in your phone's browser is enough, and the mobile view kicks in by itself. There is nothing to install.
Will I get notifications on my phone?
In-app reminders work on every plan. Browser notifications, the kind that arrive even while the phone is locked, are open on Pro and above; you only have to allow them the first time you are asked.
How do I get the desktop layout on a tablet?
There is no setting to switch: the width of the screen decides. Turn the tablet sideways and, once it is wide enough, the desktop layout arrives on its own; on a small tablet the mobile layout can stay even in landscape.
Can I put a shortcut on my home screen?
Yes. Pick "Add to Home Screen" in your browser's share menu and Pumpynotes opens with one tap, without the address bar; day to day it feels like an app.
Does it work without an internet connection?
Not for now: Pumpynotes reads your data from your account, so it needs a connection. If the connection drops the page stops refreshing, and when it comes back you carry on where you left off.
