Record your gold, crypto or stocks with a Buy transaction as quantity and price, and Pumpynotes values them at the live price. Your average buy price is kept automatically, so you also see at a glance how much you are up or down.
On Pro and above
Asset wallets are part of the Pro, Business and Enterprise plans. On Free you use a single money wallet; to open an asset wallet you need to upgrade to Pro.
Maybe you hold some Bitcoin, a little gold or a few shares. Their value changes every day, so an amount you typed in a few weeks ago is no longer right. An Asset wallet turns this around: you only record the quantity and price you bought, and Pumpynotes works out its value from the live price for you.
In the six steps below we show you how to open an asset wallet, pick your asset, see your profit and loss from your buy price and record your buys and sells. You can find the basics of adding wallets in Add, edit and delete wallets.
1
Open an asset wallet
In the Wallets tab on the left of the Finance screen, click Add wallet +. At the top of the window, under Wallet kind, all you need to do is choose Asset; the fields below change for an asset straight away. Then give your wallet a name, such as "Bitcoin" or "Gold savings". Picking an icon and a colour works just like for your other wallets.
The kind can't be changed once the wallet is created. Asset wallets are available on Pro and above.

2
Pick your asset
Under the name, the Instrument field opens a ready-made list. The folders are, in order, Gold and silver, Crypto, three exchanges (BIST, NASDAQ, NYSE) and Indices. The Crypto folder holds Bitcoin, Ethereum, XRP, BNB, Solana, Dogecoin and ten more popular coins. Click a folder's title to open or close it.
If what you're looking for isn't in the list, type its name or symbol in the box at the top. Besides the listed assets, the search also brings up stocks, indices and crypto from exchanges around the world. Click a row to pick the asset, and its live price appears next to it. If you picked the wrong one, you can change it with Edit; once the wallet is saved, though, the asset is fixed.

3
Record your first purchase
A wallet starts empty; no quantity is entered here. When you click Create, the transaction window opens on the Buy tab; pick your new wallet in the Asset wallet field. Enter the quantity and the unit price. The quantity's unit comes from the asset: g for gram gold and silver, pcs for quarter coins and shares for stocks, the coin's own symbol for crypto, such as BTC; decimals are fine. The unit price comes prefilled with the live price, and you can type what you really paid. As the paying wallet pick the money the gold came from; if it was money Pumpynotes does not track, pick the None (untracked money) option and nothing is deducted anywhere.
Once the purchase is saved, you see the quantity and current value when you hover over the wallet's row; the edit window also shows them, with the unit, as Quantity and Current value: quantity times the live price. You do not pick an asset wallet's currency, it comes from the asset: gram gold and BIST shares are valued in TRY, Bitcoin and US shares in USD.

Buy price and profit / loss
The unit price you enter on a Buy becomes the wallet's Average buy price. Every later purchase updates the average by itself, weighted by quantity; you never work it out. The field also says which currency it is in.
For example, if you bought 0.1 BTC at $60,000 and later 0.15 BTC at $70,000, the two Buy rows add up to $16,500; divided by 0.25 BTC the average is $66,000, and that is what the wallet shows. The Profit / loss box shows the difference between the current value and what you paid, as an amount and a percentage: green when you are ahead, red when you are behind.

Record purchases and sales with Buy / Sell
When you buy more or sell some, you no longer change the quantity by hand. Click Add transaction; once you have at least one asset wallet, Buy and Sell tabs appear next to the transaction types. Pick the asset wallet and enter the quantity and the unit price: the unit price comes prefilled from the live price, and the Live price button refreshes it. The amount is quantity times price, worked out for you; you also pick which money wallet the money leaves, or lands in when you sell.
Transaction window · Buy tab; once you enter the quantity and unit price, the total is calculated for you
When a purchase is saved, the asset wallet's quantity goes up and the Average buy price is updated to the weighted average by itself. On a sale the quantity goes down and the row shows the realized profit or loss; you cannot sell more than you hold. These rows sit in the transaction list with a Buy / Sell label; editing or deleting one rolls the wallet's quantity and average back too. Quantity and average cost change only through these rows; the edit window shows them read-only. The pencil icon changes the name, icon and colour; the asset itself and the wallet kind stay the same.

See your assets on the dashboard
Once you have wallets of different kinds, your wallet list is grouped under Money, Assets and Debts. Each row shows only the wallet's name. To check an asset's quantity, current value and profit/loss at a glance, just hover over its row.
The full picture opens when you click an asset wallet's row. The Finance screen switches to that asset and you see four cards at the top: Value shows what your quantity is worth today, Cost the total you paid for your purchases with your average buy price underneath, Profit / loss the difference between the two, and Change over period how much the value has moved in the selected date range. Below them, the Price card brings together the live price, the daily change and the change in range, your quantity and your average buy price, and the Trades card adds up your buys, your sells and your realized profit or loss. When you select more than one asset wallet, Allocation takes the place of the Price card: each asset's value and its share of the total.
Below the cards sits the Asset value chart, and below it the Transactions list with your Buy / Sell rows. For each day in the selected range the chart multiplies the quantity you held by that day's price; the dashed line shows what you paid, and the gap between the two lines is your profit or loss. Days you bought are marked with a green dot and days you sold with a red one; hover over a dot to see that day's trades. When you're looking at a single asset, you can switch to the Unit price tab and follow just the price. Once you select money wallets too, the screen goes back to its usual layout, and your assets still appear below the trend chart in an Assets section you can expand and collapse.
Your assets don't go into the Total balance card, because that card shows the money you have. Instead they add up in the Net worth line under the card; we explain how it's calculated in What is net worth and how is it calculated.

Frequently asked questions
How often are prices updated?
Pumpynotes refreshes prices every few minutes, and while the Finance screen is open the values refresh on their own. If a price can't be fetched at that moment, the wallet keeps showing its last saved value, and when you pick an asset, No price available appears in place of the price. Check back a little later and the value will be back.
Can I see my Bitcoin in my own currency?
The wallet itself stays in the asset's currency: a Bitcoin wallet shows its value in USD in your wallet list. The Net worth line under the Total balance card converts it, together with your other wallets, into the currency selected in Convert at the top of the dashboard, at the current rate. We explain how currencies work in Multi-currency budget tracking.
How do I track savings in a foreign currency?
For currencies, open a Money wallet in that currency instead of an asset wallet: a USD wallet for dollar savings, a EUR wallet for euro savings. The balance then sits directly in that currency, and the dashboard converts it into your currency at the current rate. You can find how in Multi-currency budget tracking.
Can I hold different assets in one asset wallet?
Each asset wallet tracks a single asset. If you have Bitcoin, Ethereum and gold, you open a separate asset wallet for each; they all sit side by side under the Assets heading in your list. Once a wallet is saved its asset can't be changed, so for another asset you open a new wallet.
Which plans include asset wallets?
Pro, Business and Enterprise. On Free you use the single money wallet that's set up when you first open Finance; to open an asset wallet, you first need to upgrade to Pro or above.
Can Pumpy, Claude and ChatGPT see my assets?
Yes. When Pumpy looks at your wallets, it sees your asset wallets too, and so do Claude and ChatGPT once you've connected them: which asset it is, the quantity, the current value and, if there is an average buy price, your profit or loss. So you can ask something like "how much is my Bitcoin worth right now?"
Can I see my purchase and sale history?
Yes. Every purchase and sale you record with Buy / Sell sits in the transaction list as its own row: date, quantity, unit price, the wallet the money left or landed in, and the realized profit or loss on a sale. Pick Buy or Sell in the Type list of the filter bar to keep only those. Purchases and sales do not count toward income or expense; like a transfer, the money only changes place.
