When you work in a workspace with your teammates, roles decide who can do what. Pumpynotes has three roles: Owner, Admin and Member. Everything you need to change roles, remove someone from the workspace, transfer ownership or leave the workspace lives in the Members tab in Settings. A role doesn't change who sees what: your notes, events and wallets stay visible only to you unless you share them.

What can the Owner, Admin and Member do?
You can see each person's role next to their email in Settings, on the Members tab of the Workspace page. Here's how the three roles differ:
Owner: The person who created the workspace in the first place; ownership can be handed to someone else later. Each workspace has only one owner. The owner can do everything an admin can, and is also the only one who can change roles, transfer ownership and delete the workspace.
Admin: Can invite teammates and remove members and other admins from the workspace. Can change the workspace logo and the Who can invite? setting. On the Billing page, can change the plan, update the payment method or cancel the subscription.
Member: Everyone who joins through an invitation starts as a member. Members can see the member list, rename the workspace and leave the workspace whenever they like. If the Who can invite? setting is Everyone, they can invite teammates too. They can't remove anyone, can't change roles and can't see when someone last signed in.

Make a member an admin or change them back to a member
Only the workspace owner can change roles. In the member list, open the ⋮ menu next to the role badge in the row of the person whose role you want to change. If they're a Member, choose Make admin; if they're an Admin, choose Change to member. No confirmation is needed: the role changes right away and the screen shows "Role updated"
The person whose role changed stays signed in and doesn't need to sign in again.

Remove a member from the workspace
If you're the owner or an admin, you can remove someone from the workspace. Admins can remove other admins too, but no one can remove the owner. From the ⋮ menu in the row of the person you want to remove, choose Remove from workspace. The window that opens says, for example, "Remove [email protected] from this workspace? Their access ends immediately." Clicking Remove from workspace to confirm is all it takes.
The person drops off the list right away, and their access to this workspace ends immediately. If they're also a member of other workspaces, they stay signed in to those. The notes, events and transactions they created aren't deleted; if you invite them again later, they'll get their own content back. However, notes, events and wallets shared with them personally stop being shared and don't come back when they're invited again; if Google Calendar is connected, the copies of events that came from Google into this workspace are removed too.

Transfer ownership
If you'd like to hand the workspace over to someone else, you can transfer ownership; only the owner can do this. From the ⋮ menu in the row of the person who'll become the new owner, choose Transfer ownership; they can be an admin or a member at the time. The window that opens sums up what will happen: that person becomes the workspace owner and you become an admin. Click Transfer ownership to confirm.
The subscription and the saved card stay the same; payments keep being charged to the same card. From then on, though, the invoices and payment emails Paddle sends go to the new owner's email address. If the new owner wants to change the card, they can do it from the Billing page.
After the transfer, the page refreshes and you'll see the new owner in the list. If you want ownership back, the new owner needs to transfer it back to you.

Leave a workspace
If you're an admin or a member, you can leave the workspace whenever you like. Click the Leave workspace button at the very bottom of the Members tab. The window that opens asks "Are you sure you want to leave this workspace?" Clicking Leave workspace again to confirm is all it takes.
If you're also a member of another workspace, you switch to that workspace the moment you leave. If you don't have another workspace, you're signed out, and the next time you sign in, a new workspace on the Free plan is created for you. Your notes, events and transactions aren't deleted; they stay in the workspace you left, and if you're invited again, you'll get them back. However, notes, events and wallets shared with you personally stop being shared and don't come back when you're invited again; if your Google Calendar is connected, your copies of events that came from Google into this workspace are removed too.
If you're the owner, you won't see this button. If you want to leave, first transfer ownership to someone else; you become an admin and the button appears.

Frequently asked questions
Which plans let me manage roles and members?
All of them, as long as there's someone in the workspace besides you. Team invitations are available on the Business and Enterprise plans, but even if your Business subscription ends and you drop to the Free plan, your existing members stay in the workspace. You can change their roles, remove them or transfer ownership; you just can't send new invitations. Since Pro is a single-person plan, you need to remove the other members from the workspace before moving from Business to Pro. We cover how to send an invitation in the Invite a teammate to your workspace guide.
Will my bill change when I remove someone?
On the Business plan, billing is per user. When you remove someone or someone leaves, the user count on your subscription goes down in the next billing period. You'll find the details on payments and invoices in the Payments, billing, and managing your subscription guide.
Can an admin see their teammates' notes?
No. No one, including admins and the owner, automatically sees anyone else's notes, events or wallets. Notes, events and wallets are private to the person who created them; others only see what's shared with them or with the whole workspace. You can find out how sharing works in Share notes, events and wallets.
How many admins can a workspace have?
There's no limit; the owner can make as many members admins as they like. There's always just one owner, though.
I want to delete my account, but there are other members in my workspace.
If you own a workspace that has other members in it, you can't delete your account. First you need to transfer ownership to a teammate or remove the other members from the workspace. You'll find every step of deleting your account in the Delete your account guide.
