Deleting your account is the most final thing you can do in Pumpynotes. Deleted records do not go to the trash, they are not held for a while, and they cannot be brought back. So there is no rush: look at what goes first, and delete afterwards if you still want to.
Do you actually want to stop your subscription?
Then you can stop right here, because the two are not the same thing. If you cancel your subscription, the paid features stay open until the end of the period you have paid for, and your account then continues on the Free plan. Your account and your records stay where they are, and you can come back whenever you like. Deleting your account leaves no way back. If you want to cancel, you can head over to Payments, billing and managing your subscription.

Open the Account page in Settings
At the very bottom of the left menu, just above your name, there is a small row of icons. The first one (the gear icon) opens Settings.
The first icon on the left is Settings, then History, Trash, Help and Support.
Once Settings opens, click Account in the list on the left. Deletion lives in the Danger zone box further down that page.
The same page also has an Export your data row. If you want a copy of your records before deleting, now is the moment: once your account is gone, there is no account left to produce that file. We explain what the file holds in Export your data.

What exactly happens when you delete?
Deletion does more than close a single account. Know this before you confirm:
- It cannot be undone. Deleted records do not go to the trash, there is no waiting period and there is no way to get them back.
- Workspaces you own on your own are deleted with everything inside them. The notes, events and finance records in those workspaces go too.
- If the workspace being deleted has an active subscription, it is cancelled first. Deletion does this by itself, so you do not have to cancel separately. If the cancellation fails, the process stops without touching anything and shows you an error.
- All your sessions end. You are signed out everywhere, including sessions still open on your other devices.
- Your support conversations and notifications are deleted too.
Workspaces you are only a member of, and do not own, are not deleted. They stay with their owner and you simply leave them.

Delete your account
There are two rows in the Danger zone box. You can first pick a reason from the What's the reason you're leaving? (optional) list below. Then press the Delete account button.
A confirmation box appears. The button stays inactive until you type your own email address into the field; this is there to prevent an accidental deletion. Once you type it and confirm, the process starts and you are taken back to the sign-in screen.

If the workspace has other members
If you own a workspace that has other members in it, deletion does not start. Instead you see a warning naming the workspaces that are blocking you. This is deliberate protection.
The way out is to hand those workspaces over to someone else. In Settings → Workspace → Members, open the row of the person in question and choose Transfer ownership; after the transfer they become the owner and you become an admin. Once you have transferred every blocking workspace, deletion goes through.
Frequently asked questions
Can I undo it after deleting?
No. A deleted account and its records do not go to the trash, are not held for a while and cannot be restored. If you want a copy of your records, you have to export it before deleting.
Can I sign up again with the same email address?
Yes, the address becomes available again. But the account you open is a completely new and empty one; your old records do not come back with it.
What happens to the money I paid?
Deletion cancels your subscription, so you will not be charged again. For a payment already made, our Refund and Cancellation Policy lets you request a refund within 14 days of any charge. Payments, invoices and refunds are handled by our Merchant of Record, Paddle; you can send your request through the support link in the receipt emails Paddle sends you.
Can I leave a single workspace without deleting my account?
Yes. In Settings → Workspace → Members there is a Leave workspace option; your account stays open and only your access to that workspace ends. If you own that workspace, you have to transfer ownership first.
Can I freeze my account instead of deleting it?
There is no separate freeze option, but that is probably not what you need: cancelling your paid subscription is enough. Your account stays open, your records stay put and you can come back whenever you like. Records above the Free plan limits are not deleted or hidden either; you simply cannot add new ones beyond those limits. We explain how to cancel in Payments, billing and managing your subscription.
If you get stuck anywhere in the deletion process, you can reach us at [email protected].
