Link a note to an event

Link the meeting notes to the meeting, the trip plan to the trip day. The linked event shows as a date card inside the note and opens in the calendar on click; in the calendar, the event shows the note's name underneath.

A note often belongs to a day: the meeting agenda, the trip checklist, the questions for a doctor's appointment. Link the note to its event and each reaches the other with one click. There are two ways to link: the Linked event property at the top of the note, or the /event command inside the text. A note can link several events.

1
Pick it under "Linked event" > Add
In the properties under the note title, find the Linked event row and click Add. Search and pick the event from the list. The event settles at the top of the note as a card.

Or type /event in the text
While writing, type /event on a line and the command menu opens. Pick the event and an event card is inserted into the text; the note is linked to that event at the same time. The result is the same as the first way, only the card sits inside the text.

Read the event card
A linked event renders as a card: a date tile on the left, then the event name, the weekday and the time; small glyphs if it repeats or has a reminder. Click the card and the event opens in the calendar. To unlink, click the × on the card at the top; the event is not deleted.

Note row in the calendar and "Link note"
In the calendar week view, an event with a linked note shows the note's name as a row underneath; click it to open the note. You can make the same link from the calendar side too: the Link note action in the event editor creates the very same connection.

If you keep one note for a recurring meeting, link it to the event once; the card always shows the event's current date and time.

Frequently asked questions

How many events can one note link?
As many as you like. Each linked event shows as its own card; the ones added from the header and the ones added with /event gather in the same list.
Does unlinking delete the event or the note?
No. The × only removes the link; the event stays in the calendar and the note stays in your notes.
If the event date changes, does the card change too?
Yes. The card is tied to the event itself; when the date, time or name changes, the card shows the current details.
Which plans include this?
All of them. Linking a note to an event is available on every plan including Free.
